Day12⎪Dream body journey

My week-end, Ayurveda and inner-beauty

First of all, I'd like to apologize because I haven't been able to write for the past 4 days - actually, 5 days about my diet/fitness journey... but I did post about my OOTD.

Anyway, these days are quite filled. Between work, charity work (I just spent all morning setting up with a group of women for our Spring exhibit-sales event this week-end), a week-end spent at the countryside, and my mother-in-law being here with us.... oh, and I also looked into Ayurveda.

That took me quite some time because I am really interested in getting better on the outside, as well on the inside. Nurturing my inner self has been (off and on) a priority in my life. My personal working with getting help from angels and guides has been the subject of many arguments, as well as many laughters with my family - especially my husband. Just telling about it, and the discoveries of my meditations and the balance and peace I feel more and more, makes people frown. I know I probably pass for a "coucou" - but it is part of who I am -  and I have to say that I live much better than I ever did, even when I was young, focusing on foolish things, and when I had a body to die for!

Anywho - things have been shaking up. After a few online tests, and getting in touch with an Ayurvedic counselor, I now know that I belong to the Pitta-Vata constitution. Two things to remember at this point about Ayurveda:
1) there are 3 doshas, which are basically three types of body/mind. There are: Pitta, Vata and Kapha. My understanding is that those traits are recognized by habits, body type and character/attitude/and reaction to life's events;
2) Food is considered to be medicine and with the right combinations, it can even be a factor in preventing diseases.

So, as for me, instead of making things easy, the route of the rare or uncommon is where I usually fall. And ayurveda is no exception. I'm not quite a Pitta, yet not really a Vata.

Vatas are light to medium body framed, they have difficult digestion; with an ability to learn quickly, and a tendency not to start what they finish. Vatas also dislike routine and habits. And it is true that they get bored quite rapidly.... which is what's happening to me and my fitness routine right now. I feel the need to change because the choreography I've been doing kinda bores me now and I have to pull the motivation from deeper and deeper places in order to get some workout done.

As for Pittas, the stuff I relate to is the softness in joints and muscles ( I do feel a bit of pain ever since I started working out - especially on my knees and ankles); creative in nature; and, the unattractive part: the strong body odor. Yes! It's true that if I let myself go for a day or so, when I was in college - I did experience it first hand - I do get a strong fragrance in my underarms. Some of my boyfriends have actually liked that; as for myself, the pungent and camembert cheese-like little B.O. is something I prefer not to be have so I make sure I'm suppa dupa clean at all times.

I'll continue to explore all aspects of this new lifestyle I'm drawn to these days and integrate them in my day to day habits. And I'll be sure to share my experiences with you, of course!

Now, let's get back to my little tradition (old of a couple of weeks ;-). Here's what I had for lunch.

PS. Tonight, I'm going out to Japanese. I'll try to take a pic of my plate(s).... even my honey and friends don't make too fun of me to archive these sort of things!
